Am reading it now and it is as good as the rest of the books in this series. It's developing the character of Cork O'Connor the main protagenist of the series. Very good as always - highly recommend the entire series, including this book.

This book is a prequel to the Cork O'Connor series and takes place in 1963 and Cork is twelve-years-old. Cork's father, Liam O'Connor, is Aurora Minnesota's sheriff and Cork helps his father solve a few murders. I have read and enjoyed Krueger's writing which is excellent throughout the whole series. It was a great way to learn more about Cork's father and their father/son relationship. If you enjoy books about the wilderness then you will enjoy this award winning series.
