I had never read any of Louis L'Amour's books, as I wasn't interested in westerns. But I saw this book at a library sale and decided to risk a dollar. Glad I did. This is a great collection of short stories (only one western) in interesting locales and with great characters. A lot of storytelling is packed into each tale.

My father, long time past, couldn't believe that I have never read Louis L'Amour books. I read everything, you see. So when I found this collection of classic adventure tales by Louis L'Amour I had to buy it. I now see why he read his works. These are men's books. Action, suspense, foreign lands, courage, strength and varied! If you, like me, have not read any of his works I believe you will enjoy getting started ... with this books of short stories.
