An incredible view of British-dominated Egypt and the Egyptian factions themselves. Interweaves the love and cross-cultural experience. A great read! Our book group went on forever about it, discovering new things at every turn of the conversation.

An interesting clash of cultures, love story, historical novel that tells the story of three women. Two of the women are in the early 1900s and the third (the narrator) is in 1997. Well written and interesting.

Try it, you might like it, although I started it several times and couldn't get past the first 10 pages.
