Beautiful gift book. Have you ever wished for a fun, adventurous life only to see your life moving past you without the fun or adventure that you have always craved. This is the moving adventurous story of one woman' s discovery of expanding horizons and unlimited challenges. Dorothy N. Nelson, daughter of a Midwest preacher, had dreams of going to far-away islands as a flying missionary. Her dream would come true when, at the age of forty-six, she received her pilot' s license. The next year Paul Harvey announced to the world that Dorothy was flying her own plane to the Philippine Islands. There she flew thirty thousand miles of mercy missions. This is the true story of her amazing adventures for the Lord around the world.

Dorothy did an emergency landing in the winter in the Arctic Circle and miraculously landed on a small ice floe. She and her copilot were prepared for an emergency but not in this cold weather. What an awesome experience! They could have lived or died, especially if she had to land in the freezing cold water. I thought the worst as they were waiting to be rescued because I know that if they were not rescued quickly Dorothy and her co-pilot would freeze to death. My adrenaline started pumping. I have seen Arctic rescues on TV and I know that the chances were against them surviving. This had to be a miracle.

This book has many pictures so you can envision the scenes before you. Some of the medical Conditions in the Philippines were awful. I would rate it 10 out of 10.
