At face value one might see a tale of protagonists on opposite sides of the law (FBI agent/jewel thief), expect the verbal parries & unwanted pull that develop between them as circumstances compel their working together (as I initially did, but I enjoy that story line).
Stop, balk or rush past this trite set up and you will miss finely crafted yet ingenuous story-telling: Susan Sey has a gift & this book is a gem. Her protagonists histories and self insights artlessly unfold to a redemptive end that celebrates courage and second chances.
