Natasha Rhodes is a British-born author best known for her contemporary fantasy book series Dante's Girl, starring supernatural crime-fighter Kayla Steele. She has also written many film novelizations of popular blockbuster movies such as Trinity and the Final Destination series of movies, as well as original books based on films such as the Nightmare On Elm Street series. Rhodes was born in Kent, England on April 8 1978. She currently lives in Orange County, California.
Growing up in rural South England, Rhodes stumbled on a box of used Marvel and DC comics at a Country Fair for fifty pence, and so began her fascination with fantasy and SF. She wrote her first movie novelization on her grandmother's ancient typewriter at age eleven - a full-length book adaptation of her favorite film Short Circuit. After graduating from the University of Wales in Newport with a BA Honors Degree in Film Production and Cinematography, she worked as a family photographer in London for many years before being hired to write official movie novelisations for Black Flame, an imprint of BL Publishing, the publishing arm of UK gaming giant Games Workshop. She wrote her first original novel Dante's Girl three years later at the age of 28, after penning five movie-based original novels and novelisations for the company. Her supernatural Buffy-style book series was published by Solaris Books, an imprint which focuses on Science Fiction, Fantasy and Dark Fantasy novels and anthologies by both established and new authors. The series was distributed to the UK and US booktrade via local divisions of Simon & Schuster. The second book in the series The Last Angel was released on 29 July 2008, and her newest novel in this series, Circus of Sins will be released on 25th May 2010 by Abaddon Books, an imprint of Rebellion.
