New Hampshire......Columbine........Virginia Tech.........South Carolina.........it could happen anywhere. What makes anyone turn from mild and meek, to lashing out in revenge when pushed too far. Not only we as adults, but our children should read this book as a warning. Young people tend to think bullying is harmless, a way of getting at someone who is different, not part of the crowd. What they don't realize is that sometimes you can go too far. This book is for anyone who has known, or heard of, a child who lashes out in rage when bullied to the point that they can't take it anymore. Jodi Picoult does a great job of writing not only of the child's feelings, but those of the parents who wondered if they had "done enough" or had missed the signs that would have warned them of the impending disaster. I definitely recommend this book.
