Elizabeth (Liz) Ames works for her dad's shipping company as a cryptographer. Her husband angry with her because their baby died suddenly leaves and joins the Army as a captain Civil engineer in 1941. She gets letters from him about Trudy a 19 year old girl he is starting a-relationship with. She leaves home and goes to Alaska i before the beginning of December 1941 to see if her marriage can be saved.She encounters love, relationships, spying, espionage. Without thinking she gets right in teh middle of all of it. Her husband is mean to her in front-of everyone. The colonel in charge assigns her husband to be her driver on post. Being short of cryptographers liz steps right in a middle of everything. Mysterious things happen like too many equipment failures, then a mountain blows up . That is no accident.Who is the spy? They arrest a man Liz and her husband both think that the wrong man is arrested. Buy who is the espionage agent? Does anyone know? Are there more than one? Liz and her husband are sent on a mission with another man. Everything breaks loose. Will two of them die? She prays to God for help. Will he help her? Neither Liz nor Allen have had much of a relationship with God. Will he hear now? Does she still want to be married to Allen?
