These little cocktail treats are easy, my mother and grandmother used them often at holidays to slow down the men in the family grazing before Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. They are also healthy to eat, so are great for kids parties, events, etc.
*You may substitute the half sliced pears for a fresh fruit, or other half sliced fruit from the can- peaches or apples! depending upon your preference***
Open your can of pears and drain the juice from the fruit. Place your pears if using all of them, on a serving platter or dish.
Put a spoonful of peanut butter on the center of each pear. Top with a cherry, we use the bottled cherries, but a raspberry, or blackberry would also look festive, too. Be sure to drain the juice from the bottled cherries before placing ontop of the peanut butter. This is a beautiful dish at the holidays, especially when using the bottled cherries.
Enjoy! You may find this little snack goes fast!!
Notes on serving: These are great garnishes around the holidays if you are having ham, or turkey. Place your ham or turkey on the platter, and surround with garnishing lettuce, then place each pear in strategic places around the ham or turkey, or your goose. It makes a lovely dish for your holiday table, and is a great appetizer.
