Typical of Russian plays, this one is full of clouds of grey. Actually, more of a major storm of genocide and infanticide (this one a real disgusting tidbit), full of guilt, yet is ways this is portrayed as acceptable and expected behavior is the given circumstances. Is this supposed to be typical of the Russian peasantry? Had enough? Don't read it.
