Remember "Shakespeare: the Animated Tales" on HBO all those years ago? Or am I the only egghead who actually watched those as a kid?
This is "R&J" abridged and illustrated with the stylized illustrations of the animated show. It's a VERY abridged version, with only the "good stuff" left in. None of the loooong soliloquys or over-spoken lines. It's just the bare-bones story of star-crossed lovers who end their lives for love. The nice part is the stage directions that fill in the story when the lines were taken out.
This is a nice introduction to the play, and the pictures help tell the story.
