This was much better than the last few in the series ... as good as the 1st one. The minister's children kept me laughing throughout the whole book. The orphan Mary adds a touch of the original Anne to the scene once again. And there's even romance in the valley of fantasy.

Not my favorite of the Anne series, but still a good one.

Different from the other Anne books as much of the focus is on the Meredith children. Still fun and in keep with the spirit of Anne. I feel it could be read independantly of the other Anne books if you are looking for something to read to your younger children.

I have mixed feelings about Rainbow Valley of the Anne of Green Gables series. Anne has become a supporting character instead of the focus of the book, which disappointed me. However, we really get to experience Anne's children and the Meredith family (the minister's family who are new to town). All of the children's antics and dilemma are funny and entertaining.
