This is a very readable tale of a part of history that I was unaware of-the struggle of the Seminole tribes to survive during 1790-1830's. It is well written and describes the uncertainty of the times through vivid characterization. The Seminoles gladly took escaped blacks into their tribe as equals and continued to move into southern Florida, as needed, to keep their tribes from being raided by slave catchers, Union or Confedrate troops. This book touches on all aspects. Very interesting!
