I really have a hard time with manipulating parents and main couples who are enemies turned lovers, but Theo and Daisy's faux engagement turned out to be an entertaining, however unlikely, way to get to know each other. Theo was a little too aimless for me (though an unfeeling father had a hand in that) but he redeemed himself well, and I did admire Daisy's business drive. The cosmetics angle was a unique touch to an otherwise routine historical romance.
