This book was recommended to me by an Amazon listmania list of erotic romance novels. Though I do not think it qualifies as a "romance novel" - as there is no romance in the book it was an highly entertaining read. However, I found it amusing not erotic at all though it is about an young man coming of age and getting quite a bit of action for himself!
Firstly, it was it's in old English slang - in itself that is hilarious.
Secondly, the chronicles are a young mans diary. His liaisons are frequent direct in the description with no mushiness or love. Though the words used to describe the sex is very direct I would not describe them as hot. He meets a women three pages later they have had sex and he has moved on to his next exploit. Which is exactly how I imagine a young man would like his romance if he could get away with it.
Thirdly, I have an image of prim and proper Victorian England- (thanks to all the romance novels I read) and this completely breaks free from that. Lots of randy young men sleeping their the scullery maid.

However, if my description of this book has turned you off. Please reconsider. Though not erotic as I had been led to believe its funny and a great diversion the standard romantic erotica.
