An older Macomber book. Carla falls in love only to find out the guy she falls for is a cop-just like her father. All the fears and worries came flooding back of her mother going through the hell of waiting for the phone to ring to bring bad news. Carla refuses to live that kind of life so she says goodbye. Can he convince Carla to change her mind about love?
I enjoyed reading this book very much.
Great book. I recommend it.
An entertaining story. Love Debbie Macomber!
Typical Debbie Macomber. This one is the Southwest
"Carla Walker had found paradise in Mexico and a temptation too sweet to deny: Phillip Garrison. Theirs promised to be much more than a casual holiday romance...until Carla learned he was a cop--just like her father.
Like a bullet to her heart, all the fears and worries came flooding back: memories of her mother waiting each day for the phone call that would shatter her world. Carla knew she couldn't live a live where love meant worrying day and night, so she said goodbye.
But Phillip couldn't let her go. He'd convince Carla that their love could chase away the shadows of doubt and fear."
