I checked this out of the library and was glad I didn't buy it. The book is put together beautifully with high-quality paper and nice colors. However, even though I am a huge non-fiction lover, I just couldn't get into this book. Many pages have no caption (you have to find a caption list a few pages further, then flip back and forth to find out what you're looking at). Many of the pictures are drawings of internal organs, muscles, etc. Not very many that would interest the mildly curious. Not many descriptions of what it was like to have to live with these diseases. It did make me thank God for modern medicine and vaccines, but not a book I'd spend much time with or want to look at again. Might be different for those in the medial professions.
