This is excellent reading until the end. Slim is a private investigator who is called to investigate an ancient case (42 years old). The daughter of a female nurse disappeared without a trace on a snowy night. Now, as the daughter grows older, she wants some closure.
Without ruining the surprise of the ending, I cannot tell why it doesn't work. However, trust me, this is not possible. This proves the point: Don't write about something you know nothing about. This was a fascinating story leading up to the ending, and how Slim solved it was believable. However, the solution was not.
