A few days ago, hubby made pizza (hand-made dough, deluxe toppings, and put it in the oven, only to find it would't heat.......so we had some sandwiches for supper, and some other "ice box buffet".   We decided we'd find out from the repairman if parts were available, and what the charge would be, and make our decision after learning that.   But the parts had to be sent for, and the shop hopes to have them in hand next Friday.  This intervening week has been quite an experience.  I'd think of something tasty to buy and fix for The Old Man, and then realize that I couldn't, because it required the use of the oven.  So I had to think around for a menu I could do on the top of the range.    Mine is a dual-fuel cookstove.   Yeah, I've got a microwave, but there are things you just can't BAKEin one.   When I have my equipment restored to full service, I'm a-gonna make some casseroles and BAKE scome pies, cakes, cookies, brownies, scones, and . . . . . .

I recently went without gas for a week and a half and I was seriously jonesing on my stove! Way more than hot water. I kept thinking "Oh, I should go bake (whatever)...oh crap".
