Great story, and a fun 'read'. Crow is a hit man gaining a conscience. Stone and Crow "do" have some enjoyable to read, dialog. As always, a super "Parker" storyLine, and I particularly like Parkers' Jess Stone character!

This is a really good episode in Stone's series. Jesse teams up with a hitman named Crow to save a 14 year old girl who is the daughter of a major crime boss. She is caught between a Latino gang and her father's thugs.

It's nice out and I have a lot to do today, so when I picked this book up 3 hours ago I only meant to read a couple of pages. It's my favorite Jesse Stone book yet; the oh-so-repetitive Jenn and Jesse show didn't even irritate me! Jesse's sex life is quieter than in some of the other books but everyone else's (spoiler alert - even Molly's) makes up for it! Are there really so many people, male and female, hopping into bed with each other without any guilt, after meeting just once? Of course, that's only a side story. The main plot is a page-turner and a little different from the other books in that it tells a story as it happens instead of after-the-fact when it's time to solve the crime. A great read, and now I have to restrain myself from picking up the next one.

Another 5 stars for Parker. There are some reoccurring characters from other books, but that's okay. The story moves along at a good and steady pace and his chapters are just short enough. I read this book in a day.
Jesse Stone is a great character ... but Crow is coool! Good, bad, or other ... you have to decide; but you can't deny he's coool! Good easy read.
Another great book by Robert B. Parker.

Robert B. Parker has always been a favorite author to read, and I do enjoy the Jesse Stone series. This was a good story, well written, and it kept me engaged throughout.
I thought the story line was too shallow and dull. To much dialog that was just to every day small town stuff. This was my first and last Jesse Stone novel.

Easy book to get into. The author does a good job developing the characters. The Jesse Stone character is excellent. I really didn't figure it out to the end.
Jesse Stone is a rock solid guy. Although the movies a well done, I like the Jessie Stone in the books better.
Good entry in the Jesse Stone series by Parker. Parker's Stone series are one of my favorites. I also enjoy the TV movies based on the Stone character starring Tom Selleck. The last book I read in this series was a little bit of a let down for me (High Profile) but with Stranger in Paradise, Parker is back on track. In this one, ex-con Wilson "Crow" Cromartie returns to Paradise 10 years after he eluded police and made off with a few million. Crow, who claims to be Apache, is searching for someone in the Paradise area at the behest of a Florida mobster named Louis Francisco. It turns out Crow is ordered to kill the mobster's ex-wife and to bring his 14-year old daughter, Amber, to him in Florida. But Crow has a thing about hurting women so does not comply with his contract. Stone ends up using Crow as an ally to help make Amber safe and get her away from a Latino gang.
Overall, this was an enjoyable entry in the Stone series and I'm looking forward to reading others in the series that I have missed.

Interesting and fast-paced. Another fine episode for Jesse Stone (whom I now always picture as Tom Selleck, of course!)
