The Merrill's have written a very helpful book about what families can do together besides watch T.V. It's like an encyclpedia of action-packed ideas.
Chapter headings are such a s Thanksgiving in a Gimme World, I am a Possibility, Honor Night, Summer Ordeal or Opportunity? It has so many useful ideas of teaching your children God's ways and not the worlds.

A book geard to families with school-age children, giving a lot of ideas for what to do on "family night". All of the activities are tied to Bible stories, or passages, or can be part of 'character studies'. The authors give lots of "this is how it works in our house" examples, which makes the book an easy read. All of the ideas are very practical and touch on a bunch of real-life topics that most families will face (discipline, schoolwork, prioritizing, etc). This would be great also for grandparents or even Sunday School classes for more ideas on things to talk about or do.
