So, if you find unpostable items that are listed as "available" (= that have the "Order this Book" button on the listing) please let us know the ISBN by sending a message in (including the ISBN in the message) to feedback. If it's possible to include several (up to 10) ISBNs in one message that would be great! We batch these and that would really help. Thanks again to everyone who has been so helpful with this! Previously this post read: We receive reports of DVDs, VHS tapes, music CDs, computer CDs, and misc. other items being posted for swap on PaperBackSwap. If you come across something posted that seems to be outside our posting guidelines, please post the ISBN and your comments in this thread. As we have time, we will check on those items and remove them if they shouldn't be in our database. Some items may be "readded" to the database by routine, automatic updates. If they are valid ISBNs, and the database compiler (which is not just for a book database) approves them, they may keep returning. That is why if an inappropriate item is listed by ISBN it may return after it is removed. So:
non-ISBN item removals are permanent. If you would also please edit any posts you make or have made (you can remove the items or use the strikethrough icon which is fourth from the left above your Reply box) to show that the items have been removed, this will make this process much more efficient. We will try to update this initial post to reflect where we are in the removal process. We want to thank our members who help with this, and those of you who have suggested ways in which we can make this process better by clarifying this post. Thanks for all your help! |

I think part of why people feel they can post non-book items is due to the wording in the TOS: Exchanged Material By using this Site, you agree to participate in the free exchange of personal property, including but not limited to books, audio books, videotapes, DVDs, video games, CDs, and other items as may be deemed appropriate for inclusion by the Site. If the TOS were reworded non-book items probably would not appear. Just my thought.

Wow! I didn't catch that when I signed up. The way it's worded it's explictly saying that all those non-book items are okay. You can't blame people for doing something that the TOS says they can do. |

The Help Center is explicit in stating that only books can be swapped at PaperbackSwap.com. The
TOS is for the parent company, National Book Swap, which also owns
SwapaCD.com - and they are obviously keeping "video games, DVDS and
other items" open for future endeavors. |
