An interesting story with numerous reflections on the decades long corruption by New York politicians affiliated with Tammany Hall. Judge Crater's mysterious disappearance instigated investigations which were the beginning of the end for the Tammany Hall crowd.

One interesting aspect is how much interaction with political corruption did Franklin Roosevelt have during his rise to be New York's Governor? That was never answered.

"Judge Crater, call your office!"
