Fascinating look into the world of bad manners, nasty habits and people not willing to change them. Also filled with finger pointing, blame games, belief bashing and quick fixes which some worked and some failed. Quote from the book "The 1918 flu was by far the worst epidemic that has ever affected humankind. No war, no natural disaster no famime has claimed as many lives. In eighteen months 500 million people contracted the flu-one-third of the world population as the time--and between 50 and 100 million people died." Book is filled with pictures to give you a feel of the time and peek into people affected and cartoonist renderings trying to sway thinking and to help people clean up their habits. Also has history unrelated to Influenza but needed to get the full picture of what was going on in the world at the time and the influence it had on how to deal with future fast spreading disease.
