Wonder Drug is a narrative non-fiction page turner that is sure to appeal to readers of Empire of Pain and Bottle of Lies. Through the history of thalidomide, the author protrays the shameful history of lax controls on pharmaceuticals domestically and internationally and the consequences that individuals faced because of a lack of regulation. The truly shameful part is how the events she describes are so recent.
