I have a new author to read. From the first paragraph, I was hooked on this book. Alafair is every bit as good an author as her dad, James Lee Burke. The author manages to keep the reader guessing and provides surprises rather than the obvious. The character, Ellie Hatcher, gains the reader's interest immediately and, through the author's expertise, the reader relates and cheers her on throughout the book. I can't wait to read more by Alafair Burke

Great series. I like Ellie, and how the author gets the reader inside of Ellie's thoughts. The new partner is a good addition, too. I have to admit, I was surprised when the murderer was revealed. Great mystery story!!

Another page-turner from Patterson. He brings these characters to life! I couldn't put it down once I started it. And, true to Pattersons' writing he left me wanting more, getting to the next book in the series as soon as I finished this one. As I was reading Big Bad Wolf, I found myself wondering if people like this really exist in our world. I guess they must, or we wouldn't have need for FBI, HRT, etc.

This was slow getting started, but once it did, it drew me in and kept me wanting to find out what happens next. She's a different sort of writer than I'm used to, but the change was appreciated. I like the way she shares the inner thoughts of the character telling the story. She portrays the 12-year old girl well.

Lots of twists and turns that keep you on your toes when reading this. Very well done and entertaining. It's the first of his books I've read, and I enjoyed it very much.

Great story, very different writing style than normally from Patterson. It's the kind of story that keeps you guessing right up until the answer is revealed.

If the "star" rating had more than 5 stars, this one would certainly get it. I've read several of the Reacher books, but this one is by far the best. It was as intense of a book as I've ever read, as well as emotional. I actually had to fight the tears on certain parts of it.

James Patterson has once again captured all of the elements of the perfect murder-mystery; complete with humor, sadness, drama, romance, and, above all, Alex Cross's ingenious crime-solving determination. He writes his books in such a unique way, that I am able to relate to each of the characters, though in different ways. I love the relationship Alex has with Nana, and in this book, Nana's relationship with John Sampson becomes more alive and captivating. The ending is again surprising, but at least ends on a pleasant note. I picked it up and couldn't put it down, finishing it in less than a day. I can't wait to get to Book 9.

Great story...kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed the interaction between Michael and all of the kids in this one. I couldn't put it down, and couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

Another winner in this series. Patterson & Ledwidge together have figured out how to make the reader feel like part of the "family", in this case, the Bennett family. What a great mixture of the crime-fighting, courtroom drama, and the close-knit family emotions in this book. Quite the page-turner. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting.

Another good sequel in this series. I liked how the reader didn't discover until almost the end all of the parties involved, and how intricate the web was woven. A great "whodunnit" effect. I can't wait for the next one in this series.

This was an enjoyable read, typical of Evanovich's style.
She has a unique way of inserting the reader into the escapades the characters are involved with, giving you a sense of the experience. This book has the element of humor expected in an Evanovich book, though it's not the Stephanie Plum-type humor. Well worth the time spent to read it.

As disturbing as the subject of this book is, it is extremely well-written and kept me glued to each page. I finished it in 2 days, just couldn't put it down. Although it's not exactly a "feel good" book, it's an enjoyable read.

What a great series! Another Alex Cross episode, and, as all of the others, full of suspense and intrigue. It's great the way Patterson gives you insight into both the personal side of Alex as well as his professional involvements. Another page-turner, I couldn't wait to find out how this one was handled and solved by Alex. I love getting to know the people in Alex Cross's life and see how he deals with the never-ending drama in his children's lives as well as Nana. Great book!!

Baldacci's new character, Amos Decker, is unique, and the whole time I was reading the book, I could feel his pain, frustration, and anxiety. From the first chapter I was hooked and couldn't wait to turn the page. He makes it easy to visualize the scenes and put yourself right there in the room when things are happening, feeling the feelings Decker feels, experiencing the same let downs he does, and rooting for the good guy. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

One of Child's best Reacher book. It fills in a lot of the blanks about Jack's past, and for those of us rooting for him to finally get to Virginia to meet Susan, it's a "feel good" moment; or at least until the trouble begins.

I was completely in the dark until the mystery was solved by Hatcher and Rogan. I like the road the author is taking Ellie down concerning her personal life, and, of course, her brother Jess is a,ways entertaining.

I discovered this book quite by accident, and am truly happy I did. It took a while to get through, but was enjoyable to read. This author writes in a much different mode than I've seen and it drew me into the story almost from the start. I'm searching everywhere for more of his books.
