Very nice collection of sci-fi stories. If you are a fan of the early sci-fi genre, this is the collection for you; 22 stories in all.

This book had such high reviews, I couldn't wait to read it. Well, I couldn't get interested in the main characters (Vanni and Paul) at all. Paul comes across as a real loser. And to be honest, their storyline was very very short. The rest of the book was filled out with side stories of characters that had been introduced earilier in the series. The story of Vanni and Paul (the main characters) could have been told in 50 pages, tops. I like Robyn Carr and have read quite a few of her books, but this one should have been a compilation of short stories, not a novel.

I ordered this CD from Paperbackswap for a very long, lonely car trip. I was fortunate that what I received was the unabridged version (14 hours!) instead of the abridged 6 hour version. The perfect "read" for a long trip. The description on the back of the box gives no clue as to the underlying storyline and the fact that the story follows this family over a number of years and through some very difficult trials. It was a good story, with realistic family bickering and underlying love and affection. A very good book/CD.

I know that many people loved this book, but I did not. I always believed that God was loving and forgiving. This book just leaves the reader with a feeling of hopelessness. (SPOILER) To treat a mass murderer the same as a wornout caregiver who only daydreams about abandoning her demanding parents, just goes against everything one believes about forgiveness.

I really loved this book. A look at a life-long friendship between two girls that evolved into a real sisterhood. Family forever, despite everything the foster care system could throw at them, and stronger than any blood relationship.

Great collection of classic sci-fi stories. 18 stories at 30 minutes each make them the perfect length for short trips. Nice variety of space exploration, aliens and living in a future time. They even throw in some old radio commercials. Highly recommend.

Nice variety of classic sci-fi stories. Nine discs with 18 stories, all from the 1950's. Each story is about 30 minutes, so it was great for short trips. Very entertaining.
