I really enjoyed this book. Especially the fact that it took place in the decade I was born.

It was so heart-warming how these four women supported each other through all of their life's struggles.

It was very eye-opening the inequality "back in the day". I found it interesting that in order for women to obtain birth control or to open a savings account in their name - their husband had to sign off on it.

I listened to the audio for a good portion of the book.

The book was well written and the audio well done.

I really enjoyed this book - as I do all of Kristin Harmel's books. I was surprised reading the Author's Notes when she indicated that she wrote this book during a time when she had a writer's block. This book was written during her cancer treatments for breast cancer. For eight months she couldn't summon the words for the story. In retrospect she thinks it had something to do with the effect of the chemotherapy drugs and her fear during that particular time in her life. I must say, when reading this novel, I never felt anything was amiss or subpar. I very seldom pre-order books. I typically wait until I am able to get it through PBS, the library or other means. I pre-ordered this book as I am a true fan of Kristin's writing. I highly recommend this book you will not be disappointed.

That's How We Roll: A Hilariously True Tale of Life on the Open Road
Review Date: 3/24/2013
Helpful Score: 1

I really enjoyed this book. What a joy it was to read about some of the Weaver family's adventures.

I must say it is somewhat mind-boggling to read about how the 9-member family band lives on two tour buses 365 days a year and travels the country to share the gospel through their wonderful music.

In addition, it was a blessing to read how God has provided for them so many times in so many ways whether it be food from a churches food pantry, an additional bus, or a campground membership.

You will not be dissappointed when you partake of this wonderful, sometimes humorous, true tale of their life on the road.

Trevor's Song: The Miraculous True Story of God's Healing Power After a Tragic Farm Accident
Review Date: 6/5/2022
Helpful Score: 2

This is an amazing true story of a families unwavering faith following a tragic farm accident of an 8 year old boy. The Beam family, including their older son's, run the family farm on a daily basis. One January in 2008, one of the son's, Trevor, sustains extremely serious injuries to both of this legs when he makes one false step inside a harvester wagon. From the very beginning, his parents showed their faith concerning Trevor's recovery. The doctor's initial assessment was that they would most likely have the amputate his right leg. His parents asked the doctors to reconsider. Over the next three weeks it was evident that his continual progress was nothing short of miraculous. Trevor was able to go home after only 3 weeks in the hospital and soon after was able to walk on his own. This was a very inspirational read.
