Book Review of $3 Meals: Feed Your Family Delicious, Healthful Meals for Less than the Cost of a Gallon of Milk

$3 Meals: Feed Your Family Delicious, Healthful Meals for Less than the Cost of a Gallon of Milk

This was not a very impressive book, with the exception of the baking chapter. The recipes were fancy and look like they would take a lot of time, and they have some uncommon ingredients, also, despite the author's claims. And the $3 price is also per serving of the recipes. I would recommend instead Erin Chase's book, "The Five Dollar Dinner Mom". Erin shows you more in depth about how to actually save money on your groceries, and her $5 price is for the entire meal for four people. Her recipes are also more frugal and sound more appetizing. Lots of the $3 Meals recipes are icky sounding combinations and are just not very appetizing. The baking chapter does have some valuable basic recipes, though. I would not actually buy the book or order it though, just for the baking recipes. I got my copy through our local library.
