I'm having a hard time putting my finger on what I liked so much about it. It was odd, gross, and purely strange at times. Yet, Süskind's writing was eloquent even in discussing disgusting things. I saw some patterns, but I am sure there are way more that blew right past me. I mean, is this an allegory? Anyway, I am counting it towards the 2018 PopSugar Reading Challenge of a book about a villain.
