In other mysteries, the cozy ones at least, you have an amateur detective that is involved in a lot of murders. Kind of like Jessica Fletcher. If I were a friend of hers, I wouldn't let her anywhere near me! And the amateur sleuth is usually involved with a police captain or detective. (Come on â who uses the word sleuth in this day and age? I've never heard anyone use the term!) This isn't the case in cop thrillers, of course. Nor is it in the books by David Rosenfelt about Andy Carpenter, attorney extraordinaire. In this book Andy's friend Captain Pete Stanton is set up to take the blame for a murder and possession of drugs. Andy and his team need to solve the mystery of who is behind of it. It is filled with the humor I love and have come to expect from Mr. Rosenfelt. I enjoyed this book, especially the last few pages!
