I was wondering what the hype was, shouldn't have bothered. I despise the trope/plot-line of having a baby and NOT TELLING THE FATHER about it. I've come across more and more contemporary books with that horrible plot-line. I thought the humor was mainly a miss for me. For someone who had a strong aversion to kids (and childbirth), why would she then deliberately have one? And not tell the baby's father? (She did supposedly look for him after Gavin's birth, but then when he comes back into her life she waits and waits to tell him)
Gavin's portrayal was unrealistic. How is that cute? Discipline him you stupid idiot!
Didn't get the romance between Claire and Carter either. I didn't feel either behaved like an adult.

"... life-sucking human..."
"... saddle myself down for a minimum of eighteen years to someone who will suck the soul and the will to live right out of my body so Im a shell of the person I used to be..."
