This is my first Jodi Picoult book and chose to read it mostly due to the upcoming movie release. I did find this book very engaging. I like how you get the perspective of each character and delve into their histories to get a better understanding of where they are currently. I do agree with another review that there was quite a bit of time spent on the relationship between the lawyer and his ex and added very little to the plot. Not much time was spent on the brother and I would've liked to get to know his character more. Altogether, it was a page-turner for me and, being a mother myself, found myself emotionally involved.
