Crime Thriller. * * * . A California drug producer is approached by a powerful Mexican drug cartel with an offer he's not allowed to negotiate. When he refuses the cartel takes drastic actions to force him.

The pages fly in this small novel. Think James Patterson on acid. The main characters are fleshed out thinly, but enough for us to care about them. The first chapter with its sole two words (whose relevance is shown later) is quite memorable. The action escalates with the twists, turns and pop culture references. The jokes are funny now, because they're current, but will surely be lost to time.

My only complaint is that the author hints at the ending early on by referencing a famous piece of pop culture eary in the novel. Those who are not aware of this famous reference will probably add 1/2* (or maybe even 1 * ).
