This is a contemporary retelling of Little Women in the two books together, though the author has changed, names, places, etc. For example, Mr. Bhaer is a cook. But I really enjoyed it. This is much less "sanitized" for children, as the marriages face genuine hardships. Also, though some of the things they say are familiar, some of the plot points happen in different orders. But it is a pretty good story even if you don't know Little Women. The first book in the series dragged a little at points, but I liked the second one much better.Â
