Filled with language fit to the time period of the book as well as action a bit of romance and adventure, The Victor by Marlayne Giron is a wonderful story about growing up as well as good versus evil.

Joshua and Llyonesse have known each other since they were small children. Separated by her father's duty to serve the King, Joshua and Llyonesse finish their adolescent years apart.
Ardon and his wife Zarabeth take their daughter Llyonesse to a new land (Shiloh) to establish a new kingdom for their King.
Meanwhile, Lucius, a traitor to the King, is shown mercy and allowed to leave the King's kingdom of Ellioth.
All of their stories intertwine with each other in the struggle to rule the throne and the people.
With twists and turns, The Victor will keep you guessing as to who will win the throne and thus the power!

I truly enjoyed reading the Victor. It took me until the end of the 1st chapter to really start to get involved in the characters lives. Afterwards the book became hard to put down! I enjoyed not knowing exactly what would happen and who would win the throne.
