To judge a book by its cover, I loved the beautiful cover art of this book. Admittingly, that's why I chose to read this book. When I started this, I was worried that I might end up confused, since this is a sequel and I hadn't read the first book, but there was no need to worry. This book is very easy to read and explains throughout the references to events in the first novel. So, while you may not have every detail you should have enough to understand how LeeLee ends up where she is.
This book was a fun and fast read. It had all the southern charm you would expect. It also had enough light humor to amuse. The cast of characters were well written. The characters are a nice mix of proper Southern ladies & gentlemen and some characters are true jerks. It was interesting to see all the dramatic life changes the main character Leelee goes through and how she handles it quite well. She has her moments of breakdown, but for the most part she is a strong Southern woman. She handles her problems with grace and she is always thoughful of her family and her friends.
The only thing I didn't like was there wasn't too many details about LeeLee's children and they at times seemed just like an after thought. Though, I enjoyed the lightheartedness of this book enough to over look that. It was feel good women's fiction.
Overall, a fun, light and easy read which I'd recommend to my friends.
