I was sent a copy by the publisher: It was very well plotted and reasonably well written. There were 2 villains. One of them you may guess, but the other will probably surprise you.

One thing I didn't like about this book was that even though Irene Hannon is marketed as a Christian writer the characters in the book used New Age and Eastern techniques such as visualization and hypnosis. Yes, there was a little gratuitous violence.

The characters were likable, but not in a way that made my heart pound when they were in trouble. It was more like "How's she gonna get out of this" than "Oh I need to keep reading until she's safe". They were somewhat two dimensional and their traumas were trope-ish and also gratuitous.

If you want a book that will entertain you this is a good option. If you want a book that makes you think and feel you may be a little disappointed.
