Book Review of Farmhouse Cookbook

Farmhouse Cookbook

The author's two-year odyssey as she traveled the country visiting farms and collecting recipes, many of which are family recipes made for generations, results in 300 recipes. Each is introduced with a section of text explaining it's origin, how to select and use ingredients, hints on cooking, variations, and stories of the people she met while compiling this book. If you want good home cooking made simple but VERY tasty, this is the book for you.
I found the stories of the people interviewed (while the author was eating their food) to be fascinating.

Recipes you will want to try:
SUMMER TOMATO PIE
PENNSYLVANIA CHICKEN CORN SOUP
LENTIL SALAD WITH SMOKED TURKEY
PORK LOIN WITH A CORIANDER AND GARLIC CRUST
DILLED BEETS AND POTATOES
MONTANA CHICKEN SALAD
HAZELNUT CRISPS
