Jack is a very loving and caring hero...he takes care of his aunt and his cousin even though his aunt is a bitter woman. He loves his French mistress and hates to leave her when he has to travel to England to claim his earldom after the death of his twin brother.

Priscillia loves butterflies, they start out ugly then become beautiful - they can change their appearance unlike humans. Pris is plain, she was surprised when Jack's brother ask to marry her but relieved that the marriage didn't take place. Now he has died and his brother has come home.

Pris and Jack slow fall in love, Jack adores how innocent Pris is compared to his very experienced mistress. Their first kiss is magic, but there is black magic brewing that might keep the lovers apart.
