Unusually evocative and well-crafted.

I couldn't stop reading this book because of its consistent and engaging emotional overtones. You get the feeling that the main character cares very, very deeply about things that others have a surface relationship with. Its atmosphere would best be described as "brooding."

Can't wait for another novel from this author.
