The debauchery in this book is beyond the pale. The "hero" is actually a villain; out to destroy his wife's beautiful innocence and love (just so he can be "free" to live his life as he wishes). One reviewer called him "a jerk"; he's much worse than that. He's immoral...depraved...self-center...spoiled...and thinks he deserve to do as he likes and treat people with contempt, just because he was born a Duke. He may be a nobleman, but he is far from a noble Man.
