OK, I had a problem with the wife of the title, who at 18 abandons her husband and marriage because she saw him kill a man in self-defense. Her religious and moral outrage of him as a murderer doesn't seem to extend to personal outrage over walking away from her marriage vows. She nearly walks away again during an attempt at reconciliation 10 years later when once again her husband must do all he can to rescue a woman and child being kidnapped at knife point. The last part of the book is exciting with of course the wife herself being kidnapped and defending herself against rape and becoming a murder victim.
