Another great book from my favorite author!

Emily Benedict moves back to Mullaby, a small town in North Carolina, after her mother's death and moves in with her grandfather, Vance Selby, an eight foot tall recluse whom she never knew. Additionally, she is hoping to learn more information surrounding her mother's life growing up in her hometown.

Julia Winterson moves back to Mullaby after her father's death and decides to run her father's café. Since she is an accomplished baker, she adds her delicious bake goods to the menu. She left her hometown at age sixteen when she became pregnant with Sawyer's child. Now that she is back, both Sawyer and her rekindle their relationship.

Win Coffey comes from a respectable family, and unfortunately, due to his genetic condition makes it difficult for him to go out at night but, this does not prevent him from pursuing Emily as a love interest.

I loved the magical elements that the author included in the book! For example, Emily's bedroom at her grandfather's house contains mood-changing wallpaper. At night, Emily witnesses strange moving lights in the backyard that is due to Win's medical condition. Finally, Julia has this uncanny knack of infusing hope into her baking.
