General Foods introduced fast frozen victuals to consumers in 1930 by supplying ten grocers with the freezer, maintenance, and demonstrators; the grocer only paid for the product sold. This took off in the 1950s--I remember how little capacity grocery stores had for frozen food before the TV dinner arrived. My grandpa in Olympia rented a space (small cage) in a refrigerated warehouse to keep some berries, etc.
The book is well done, easy to read, and includes photos. Index, bibliography.
