Angela and Rafe meet when he pulls her over for speeding and that's when the sparks fly, literally. Angela hates 'cops', because she feels they are responsible for her brother being in jail. She deliberately tries to get Rafe into trouble, by filing several complaints against him. Rafe is a good cop who loves his job, but is haunted by memories from his childhood. Rafe and Angela begin a relationship that is strictly just sex, but find themselves falling in love.~~~~~~~I enjoy Dyanne Davis' writing style, I was looking forward to enjoying this novel after reading the book description, however, I have to say this wasn't my favorite. I enjoyed Raphael's character, with the exception of him taking so much crap from Angela. I enjoyed the intense heat and passion between Rafe and Angel. However, I found Angela to be quite annoying. She was very naive, quite immature and dangerously irresponsible. After everything she did to Rafe, her blantant disregard for his life as well as his career, I could understand why his family thought he could do better. Angela was a piece of work. And the way her family treated her, with the exception of her cousin, Simone, was just AWFUL. The love scenes in the story were exceptional, but the rest of the plot was just so unbelievable, because regardless of Angel being Rafe's destiny or soul mate, I couldn't imagine anyone, especially a police officer putting up with her destructive behavior. I mean considering Rafe's job and his ethics, how could he respect or even like her after the irresponsible and immature way she behaved throughout the novel. So many times I wanted Rafe to call it quits and just let Angel go!
