Talulah has returned to her hometown of Coyote Canyon to empty out her great aunt's house and hold her funeral. She is also going to have to face her ex-fiance Charlie, whom she left at the altar. She currently runs a successful dessert cafe in Seattle with her business partner Paul, who has wanted to date her for 4 years. Talulah runs into Charlie's best friend (and her former nemesis) Brant, and one thing leads to another and they connect. It definitely sets tongues wagging in her small town, especially since Charlie isn't over Talulah- even though it's been 14 years. Now not only is everyone in Charlie's family mad at her, but the whole town is thinking that she will break Brant's heart too.
Talulah's character is actually pretty nice- even though she does make several questionable decisions. Brant is a total sweetheart. But Charlie and his family? Awful. Come on- it's been 14 years. Time to drop it. Also- Talulah's business partner from Seattle was a total creep. So I liked some parts of the story, while others got a bit grating. I may read the next book in the series at some point, but I will probably wait a bit.
