Ken was born in Toronto, Ontario on June 6, 1972. His parents were Ted Power from North River, NF and Verna Mouland from Musgrave Harbour, NF. Ken was raised in Upper Gullies in Newfoundland, Conception Bay South, since he was 2. Ken is the oldest out of three children. When he was a young child he always had an interest in art, especially drawing, and demonstrated his artistic talent at a young age. He was inspired by his Father who also enjoys painting. Ken began painting in acrylics as a hobby when he was 23 years old. After pursuing interests in various other fields, Ken began painting professionally in January in 1997, with his medium of choice being watercolor.
