For most part, I really enjoyed this book. Our main character, Ropa, was terrific. So was her grandmother and her friends. The story line was interesting and had me involved from the very beginning. The way Ropa talks to ghosts as part of a paying gig was awesome. The detective/mystery story that tangles in is set up nicely. There were a couple of really creepy parts in the book as well. The scene at "the house" and the one at "the farm" was spine-chilling for me.
There were a couple minor points that took away from the book. One was the title. Even though we discover the Library of the Dead, it is a very small part of the book. Kind of deceiving. I thought it would focus on the library and build the story around it but it didn't. Also, the book seemed a bit YA. I imagine it was because of the young characters but with the language and violence, it gave more of an adult side.
All in all I enjoyed it. Look forward to the next one.
