Stuart A. Wright is an American sociologist and author. As of 2007 he holds the position of Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies and Research at Lamar University. Dr. Wright has spoken at lengths in regards to the Branch Davidian Conflict in Waco, Texas. His works have been referenced in condemning the media and government for the characterization of the Branch Davidians as a "cult" group. Such labeling has been blamed as part of a campaign by both entities to dehumanize the members and garner public support against the Waco group.
